You will notice on all my cabinets they are face framed. Meaning the doors are hung onto a 1.5 to 2 inch hardwood frame attached the front edges of the gables & shelves. I can’t say enough about the structural importance of face frames and there obvious absence in modern production cabinets.

I always use birch veneer core plywood to form the cabinet casework. The insides are a very light wood colour with a sprayed lacquer finish. Then its solid wood all the way for doors and dovetailed drawers.
