Birch Kitchen Cabinets
Birch Kitchen cabinets are a favourite among wood lovers.
Yellow Birch has a very quiet and pleasing grain pattern.
Contrary to popular belief yellow birch is harder than sugar maple.
Granite tops, Inset doors & drawers, full height uppers, cock beading and crown mold are just some of the features of these birch kitchen cabinets.
Cock beading, milled onto the inner edge of the frames is a noted feature in the doors, drawer fronts & gable ends.
Fraser Design Studio in Owen Sound Ontario designed this Kitchen. Two of the original concept sketches are shown on this page. In the day of generic looking auto cad drawings it is a pleasure to be working with someone who can efficiently create warm sketches on the drafting board. Designer Doris Fraser can be reached at (519) 371-5834 in Owen Sound. In 2014 I have once again worked with Fraser Design Studio to produce a rift sawn Oak kitchen. Stay tuned for updates on that Kitchen.
The kitchen also features three banks of drawers all on full extension slides.
Soft close full extension hinges are the flavour of the week but I have serious concerns relating
to the quantity of plastic parts used in the mechanism to close the drawer. I just don’t think they will stand the test of time.
My customer here agreed with me and we just used manual full extension slides. The choice is yours in the end.
