Black Cherry Lamp Tables

The customer commissioning these lamp tables is indeed a model customer. Peter Barkman is a respected wood turner in Grey County. In 1993 he commissioned seven furniture pieces for his home. Several of them contain Peters turnings. The design was a collaborative effort while the turnings and casework where produced in our separate studios. The Black Cherry lumber used is some of the finest Black Cherry I have set to saw in my entire career. Luck would have it I was in the right place at the right time to acquire a veneer log which are known for superior grain and colour.

Materials: Black Cherry, Pine secondary wood, Cherry pulls

The bed cleverly utilizes curtain tail chamfers to marry the post to the turning.
